Lot #276 - Eastern RR "C"ar Lock made by Sherburne
Eastern Railroad Box Car lock with
Sherburne hallmark with un-broken "R" on shackle. Measures 2
1/2" by 3 3/4". Beautiful unused condition requires the 3
dimensional bit with 2 teeth that extend past the barrel. It must be older
because the "Sherburne" die stamping on the shackle does not have the
broken "R". It must be at least pre 1885 which is when the Boston
& Maine took over the Eastern. The dust cover is sprung and there is an
old chain attached. Excellent condition.
