Lot #150 - Boston & Maine - Peter Gray - Classification Lamps
Pair of Peter Gray B&MRR locomotive
classification lamps. Complete set with green insert glass panels intact.
The early Boston & Maine used 2 lenses on the locomotive classification
lamps. These lamps have two mounting brackets each. They stand 13 1/2"
tall and the lenses are 4 1/2" in diameter. Both have the correct round
founts and long shaft burners. Both have wire bails and cookie cutter tops.
Both have the same B&MRR applied tags and both have the Peter Gray &
Sons rectangular maker's tags. Both have intact "peek holes". This
is a very nice set of class lamps. The only thing I could find wrong is a
missing exterior wick retention plate. Even I could probably fabricate this
small piece. A wonderful set of old oil burning classification lamps from a
classy maker. Excellent condition.
