Lot #100 - B&M 6" Star Headlight Steel To Bellbottom Lantern
Boston & Maine Railroad - 6" Tin
Top Bellbottom lantern with a clear cast barrel globe. Made by Start
Headlight Company in New York. This is the lantern on page 198 of
Richard Barrett's comprehensive Lantern Encyclopedia. The B&MRR marking on the lid is very
nice and it's the standard style of Start Headlight. The bell has a standard
glass fount and brass burner. The Globe is an exceptionally clean 6"
barrel shape with a nice B&MRR casting. Excellent condition and an
opportunity to have an example "from the book".
