Lot #85 - Attleborough Branch Railroad Corporate Sealer 1870
This is a very interesting Massachusetts
item. It was made by J. H. Powers & Co., Boston, Mass. It is the
corporate sealer from the Attleborough Branch Railroad. This is a New Haven
predecessor. A prior owner went to the trouble to have the male die made
from the impression of the female die. The impression it makes is 1
3/4" in diameter. The sealer has a smooth working mechanism and it has
original red and gold paint trim. Because it's basically cast iron, it's
heavy. An unusual piece of hardware in very good condition.
