Thomas George is very obscure. The check on this page is the only Thomas George check known to exist. I have no further information on George. Note that this check has beautiful early style "arc" lettering for the railroad initials. The "2" is also an interesting design

What did happen to the early Chicago makers like Hanson and Thomas George? There is speculation that Wilcox took them over, however, I have no proof of this.
