Lot #508 - Maine Central Railroad Pinecone Silver Cocktail Shaker

ds02 Railroad Maine Central  Size 5" tall, (2 1/2) on bottom Condition Very Good This MEC silverplated cocktail shaker has both the Pinecone side logo and it is also backstamped MCRR in ornate lettering. It was made by Meriden Silver Co. in Connecticut. It stands 5" tall. It has a marking of "2 1/2" which probably stands for pints. Meriden did not date code their holloware and this piece probably dates to the 1906 or 1913 cars that the Maine Central had that required dining car items. There is some wear and a couple of tiny dings. This is not a common piece. Very Good condition.   Return to Auction Listing copyright Scott Czaja 2011
