Lot #416 - Chicago Milwaukee & St Paul Railway Handlan lantern

 

la56 Railroad Philadelphia & Reading  Size 5 1/2" tall globe  Condition Good This lantern is a pointed top Handlan model that pre-dates the Handlan "flat top" models. The lid is nicely stamped "CM&StP RY". The lid has a bail lock down clip. The Handlan name is under the bottom of the pot. The frame is square and strong. The frame has been painted black at some early date. The globe is a red cast "CM&StP RY" in an oval panel. The strike is weak but it is a red cast globe.
