This is a group of 5 brass revenue tags. All are from New York. The duplicate locations are in different styles and markings. These tags are: 

(1) Ticket Agent - Syracuse, New York - W. G. Reynolds, Lexington Ave, New York, NY #35 

(2) Ticket Agent - 125th Street, New York, NY - Auditor of Passenger Revenue, Detroit, Michigan #258 

(3) Ticket Agent - Utica, New York - W. G. Reynolds, Lexington Ave, New York, NY #40 

(4) Ticket Agent - Utica, New York - W. G. Reynolds, Lexington Ave, New York, NY #60 

(5) Ticket Agent - Syracuse, New York - Auditor of Passenger Revenue, Detroit, Michigan #61

They are all uncleaned showing some tarnish. This type of tag was used by the Passenger Revenue Department of the New York Central Railroad. Most measure 5" by 2 1/2". They are thick, heavy brass. They weight in at about 7 1/2 oz each. That means that 2 weigh almost a pound. These tags were used on canvas mail bags to transport passenger revenue information so that audits could be performed at centralized locations. All of these tags are from one large collection.
