Lot #281 - Chicago Great Western Railroad Adlake "Reliable" Lantern
This Adlake Reliable frame has a single
guard wire and has lots of its original tin. The frame is very nice. There
is a tape label saying CGWRR on the base near the intake holes. This means
that the prior collector hung his lanterns high and needed to know what was
what from a low view. The lid has a nice CGW RR stamping and the standard
Reliable patent dates. The base is a standard Reliable with a drop in pot
with a brass Reliable burner. The globe has an outstanding CGW RR casting.
It is really nice. The casting is in an oval panel. The globe also has the
cast "Cnx" Corning hallmark near the top. Excellent condition.
