Lot #229 - Boston Concord & Montreal Lantern

Railroad Boston Concord & Montreal
Size 5 1/2" globe
Condition Good

I think the maker is Railroad Signal Lamp & Lantern. The brass cap has a few old dings. The BC&M RR marking on the lid is clear. The bell is fine with no damage. The pinch pot is a three point rather than a 2 point style pinch assembly. The Globe is an unmarked 5 1/2" clear.

The Boston Concord & Montreal did not have cast globes so this passes the laugh test.

The frame has even discoloration that makes it look used. It is not a shiny, new look. All major rust has been removed so it displays well as is.

The Boston Concord & Montreal was an early New Hampshire road that ran from Concord up past Lake Winne to the Conn River in Woodsville/Wells River. They were merged with the Concord Railroad in 1889 to become the Concord & Montreal. This lantern dates to the 1875-1889 period.

Good condition.
