Lot #202 - Vermont Central Railroad Switch Key with Employee Name and Historyy
This special key was made by J. L. Howard
in Hartford, Connecticut. It also has the name of the employee it was issued
to: John O'Neil. It has a fabulous taper and it is serial number 27 and the
standard VtCRR stamping. This key pre-dates the 1873 name change from
Vermont Central to Central Vermont. A friend did some research on John
O'Neil using old Census reports and came up with his home address and family
history. That research material will be included. This is a special key. Few
keys are marked for a specific person that can be identified in historical
records. The key itself is very nice with a large diameter bit. Very Good
condition.
