Lot #92 - Old Colony cast panel switch lock
This Old Colony Railroad Box Car lock was
made by Bohannan with an 1885 patent. The Old Colony went into the New Haven
in 1893 so it's pretty easy to date its use to a 8 year period. OCRR is cast
into the reverse panel. The front has the Bohannan hallmark on the sprung
dust cover and "119" stamped across the top and a "C" in
the lower right shackle corner. "C" stands for Car which we new
refer to a s a Box Car. The key requires a jog off a vertical bit. It is not
as common as the Switch models. Very Good condition with some old filing to
the key entry.
