Lot #41 - Unusual Semaphore type single lens lamp
This tin lamp has several unusual
features. It stands 17" tall with a box size of 7 1/2" by 7
1/2" and 12 1/2" tall. The lens is about 6 1/4" in diameter.
This lamp has a heavy solid bail mounted on steel posts using cotter pins.
The steel posts have round holes for mounting on the base. The back door has
a peak hole and a weird hinge mechanism. There is a pot and burner. There
are NO markings at all. The unusual Roman Helmet reverse curve tin vent
assembly is outstanding. Unknown maker and unknown user. It could be a
foreign classification or ditch lamp. The mounting provisions are definitely
heavy duty. Good overall condition.
