Lot #40 - 2 Indiana Dater Dies

includes Baltimore & Ohio / NYC - Gary

arl53 Railroad New York Central  Size standard  Condition vg /excellent This is a group of 2 brass dater machine dies from Indiana. The joint Baltimore & Ohio / NYC for Gary is interesting. They vary a bit in condition and they have not been cleaned. The last picture is a digital manipulation. Because the dies read backwards, it is awkward to read them. This group includes:  (1) Gary, Ind (both NYC and B&O) #4  (2) Terre Haute, Ind #3  Dater dies were used in machines to validate tickets. The dater machines require a die. The dies usually have a location a and a number to help identify who stamped a ticket.   Return to Auction Listing copyright Scott Czaja 2011
